Senior System Administrator (Windows Server Platform Migration)

Background Check: Must successfully complete a security clearance check for Airport Restricted Area Access.

Location: On Site – Ottawa (Airport)

Workday: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Contract – 6 Months

Main Duties:

  • Migrating aging Windows servers and services to new Windows Server 2019 or 2022 platforms
  • Related server administration

Other:

  • Performing the upgrade of Windows based applications on Microsoft servers;
  • Migrating Microsoft Active Directory to new domain controllers;
  • Installation of new Microsoft Server 2019 and/or 2022 servers;
  • Decommission of old Windows servers;
  • Installation of Windows updates for servers; and

Must Have – Skills/Experience

  • Experience administering to Microsoft Server class of operating systems;
  • Experience installing and configuring new Microsoft servers;
  • Experience migrating server applications from an EoL server to a new server;
  • Experience migrating Active Directory and raising the functional level of a domain;
  • Experience decommissioning Windows Servers is essential;
  • Experience with administering to Azure AD is an asset;
  • Experience with SharePoint and/or SharePoint online is an asset;
  • Experience moving Microsoft SQL databases to new SQL servers is an asset;
  • Experience with VMWare is an asset.
