Job description
The successful candidate will be paid according to the institutional salary scales, plus institutional benefits. Our laboratory is interested in identification and development of novel small-molecule inhibitors against cancer targets. Our laboratory has three components: 1) Structure-based drug design; 2) Medicinal Chemistry; and 3) Biological assays. As a key member of our team, the candidate is expected to perform in vitro assays to evaluate a series of compounds for their activities against the intended targets and the impact on relevant cancer cells. Promising compounds will be evaluated for the in vivo efficacy in mice. Typical in vitro assays include cell-free/cell-based target engagement assays, cell proliferation assays, target-dependent reporter assays, WB, qPCR, BRET2 assays, etc. The duties of the candidate also include establishment of new in vitro assays and laboratory management (mainly order and management of the research materials).
Qualifications:
1) The candidate must have a M.Sc. degree in molecular biology, with previous working experience with molecular cloning and cancer cells. Experience with xenograft models is a plus.
2) Candidates who are Canadian or permanent resident are encouraged to apply.
