Fairleigh Dickinson University is the largest private (not-for-profit) university in the state of New Jersey (USA) with approximately 12,000 graduate and undergraduate students and more than 100 degree programs ranging from the Associate of Arts (A.A.) to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). -6809 Advanced Applications Development
Course Description:
Students will study the development of advanced application systems based on contemporary software design patterns such as the MVC (Model, View, Controller) pattern. The course covers the implementation of applications’ front end and back end using entity classes, boundary classes, control classes, and a fully working database. Topics include the design and implementation of these classes, database connectivity, Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), TCP/IP and UDP/IP networking programming, multithreading programming, and the Web-based applications development. The technologies for the implementations can be Java, .Net/C#, PHP, etc. Students are required to implement an application system in two versions, GUIs based and Web based.
Required Qualifications:
1. Must be eligible to work in Canada.
2. Must hold a master’s degree or a PhD degree in one of the following fields of study: Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
3. Having a North American teaching experience or work experience in the cyber security area is preferred.
4. Having an Industry certification like CompTIA Security+ is a plus.
